Anyone who knows me knows I love anything sparkly. My eyes twinkle and my heart does a funky dance whenever I see sequins, crystals or glitter. I am so drawn to these shiny things that some of my friends call me “Magpie”.
Imagine my delight when I found out about Jaime Lee Major. A WA-based designer, Jaime Lee became an Internationally-recognized name when Kimbra wore her custom-made creation to this year’s Grammys.
The dress grabbed everyone’s attention more so when the singer got on stage to receive the Record of the Year award along with Gotye for Somebody That I Used To Know (“somebody…”).

So anyway, my point in talking about sparkly things is because Jaime Lee is most known for her vibrant and heavily embellished designs. Also, she likes to sign off her notes with “Love and Sparkles” instead of plain old “xoxo”.
Jaime Lee also got major (yes, pun intended) when the Jenner sisters/mini Kardashians wore her designs for a recent shoot.
Jaime Lee’s most current venture is to raise a total of A$75,000 to bring her from Perth to Paris, where she will showcase a 30-piece collection at the Paris Fashion Week in July. The sum is only half of what is required to make her dream come true.
Every pledger gets something in return – from a personal tweet (at A$1 donation) to this awesome holographic wallet (want! – at A$250 donation).
You can still gawk at this glory even though this pic is really tiny
Of course, you see the pattern here: the more, the merrier! So the more you donate, the better the reward!
Jaime Lee also holds competitions for all pledgers to stand a chance to win any of these dresses:
I am personally loving the dress on the left. But the more I look at it, the more I’m attracted to the other design too (Librans and our indecisiveness!)
